Spam Filters
What is an e-mail spam filter? How does it work? How to enable spam filtering?
An email filter is a piece of software that is installed on an email server and ‘scans’ all inbound emails in order to hinder any undesired ones from reaching a particular inbox. Several instances of such emails would be: offers for pills or cash, fake bank statements or attachments that contain malicious code sent with the idea to damage your personal computer. Email filters normally check the content of an email and in case they detect certain keywords or other dubious content, they either erase the email message or redirect it to the Spam/Junk folder instead of the Inbox folder. Some web hosting companies mix their own spam filters with up-to-date databases from spam-monitoring organizations, so as to guarantee better safety for their customers. Such databases include patterns, mail server IP addresses and other info about spam emails recently reported by these organizations.
Spam Filters in Shared Hosting
If you decide to host your domains with our company and you choose any of our shared plans, you will be able to activate anti-spam protection for any email address that you set up. With a few clicks of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel, you can configure five different levels of safety. If you still receive junk messages or the filters start preventing genuine messages from entering your mailbox, you can change the level just as easily. The efficiency of our spam filtering solution is guaranteed by one of the most famous email filters – SpamAssassin. In case you don’t want to risk skipping a legitimate email that may be regarded as spam due to its content, you can also set up custom spam filters based on the sender, the subject or the body of the email message and re-send the emails to some other email account where you can check them at a later time.
