There are two services that you need for a functioning website - a domain name and a website hosting plan for it. Whenever you type the domain in your browser, you see the content that is uploaded inside the website hosting account, but if that domain isn't linked to such an account or to an e-mail service, it's parked. In other words, the domain is registered and you're its owner, but it lacks content of its own. Instead, it can open either a pre-made “Under Construction / For Sale” page from the registrar company, or it could be forwarded to some other URL of your choice. The benefit of parking a domain name is that you can keep it and make certain that no one else will take it. In the meantime, it won't occupy a slot for a hosted domain address inside your account. You may also park domain names if you have a .com, for example, and you register domains with other extensions such as .net, .org or country-code ones to direct them to the main website as a way to protect a brand name.

Parked Domains in Shared Hosting

When you have a shared plans through our company, you'll be able to park any of your domain names easily. The function is offered for the domains registered with us, but not for the ones that are only hosted here and pointed from another company, as a domain address can be parked only through its registrar. Our Domain Manager tool will permit you to choose from a number of different templates and you're going to be able to add custom text to any one of them. Redirecting a domain address to a different URL is as easy as just typing the web address and saving it. If you would like to host any of your parked domain names, it takes simply a click to do it and our system will do the rest - changing the name servers, setting up a domain folder in your account, creating the needed DNS records, etc. For simpler control, you'll be able to filter the domain addresses registered in the account by their status - parked or hosted.
